Hey..Im 16 and i have keratosis pilaris. Its just on my upper arm and Ive tried to use one or two creams but they dont work soi stick to coco butter. However there was some signs of improvement but then it stopped working. I need something to cover it for some parties when i wear short tops. Would fake tan work.. and if yes which one would you recommend. Also What other treatments can i try to either rid it or hide it?

Try an exfoliant...something with pumice in it. Did the doctor tell you what it actually is? There's a waxy substance that builds up in the pores and that cream is supposed to break it up so that it doesn't block them.
No, the cream doesn't really work...and it's expensive.
I don't think the fake tan would work...real sunlight (or tanning with UV) might work.
Reply:i have the same condition- except just a little on my face. i've tried almost everything, and no, fake tan doesn't work. so i've made an appointment with a dermatologist. you should too. but anyway, who cares what your arms look like?
Reply:i have same problem, i have not been able to find anything to cover it. i just use a Brillo pad to scrub as much dead skin off as i can, because that is one of the main reasons the bumps form. i can never where short sleeve shirts because of this reason. I'm not sue if a fake tan will work it may hide some of the redness. i have thought of this too. i havent tried it though
